An Old Staple Returns

We plan on using Mark Shephard’s book “Restoration Agriculture” as a guide.  He calls for the planting of many perennial trees including, among others, the chestnut which could once again become a staple food.  The American chestnut used to dominate the Appalachian landscape hundreds of years ago and is making a comeback.
